Been pretty busy..

I can't believe that the 4th of July has already come and gone...I am getting used to working 12 hour shifts and could get real used to the days off! I was fortunate to have the 4th off and to be able to spend it with my family. We went to Philadelphia to see the fireworks at the casino, and I think that last years were better.

I am getting excited about this weekend. We are going on a grown-up trip! We haven't been able to go anywhere without kids in such a long time, but I know I am going to miss Carter and Avery too much!

Last day of school means the first day of SUMMER!!!

Today was Carter's last day of Kindergarten, and I have to admit I am kinda sad...this means my boy is growing up. AND that also means I am getting old!

I start work on June 1, and I am very excited about all of the learning opportunities at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

Avery's aftermath

So on Monday Avery went in to the Mississippi Surgical Center for an outpatient tonsilectomy and adenoidectomy; she has had too many cases of strep to count!...Everything during the procedure went great, and I was so proud that she didn't cry as the nurse took her away from Jonathan. I was kind of expecting her to come out like she did when she had her tubes put in, giggling and ready for her juice. BOY! I was wrong...she would alternate between moaning and screaming. It has been a slow recovery this week and with her being 3 she has a mind of her own. I know it will be worth it in the end for her.

We had pictures made on April 25, they turned out great! Once I can figure out how to get them on her I will put them up. Thanks to Brooke Lepard, she did an amazing job on them!

After looking at many blogs I thought I would start one for my family. So here goes.

I am getting very anxious about the next few weeks. I will be finishing nursing school next week and applying for jobs. What happened to the nursing shortage I have been hearing about for the last...I don't know 5 years??? As I am getting ready for this big first step in my nursing career Avery has strep throat again (second time in 3 weeks), and we are going back to the ENT for a consult on her tonsils and adenoids to be removed. I pray that all goes well with this! Carter is finishing up his first year of BIG school, and I am so amazed at how much he has learned in kindergarten....We have been blessed with great teachers and it doesn't hurt to have two aunts that work there too!
